Event: Co-curriculum Gala Night
Last night was the most annoying, troublesome, and tiresome night. It was our college “Co-curriculum Gala Night”, held at Dewan Seri Gema, and attended by lecturers, staffs, and VIP (maybe VVIP too).
The special guest that I knew would come was Datuk Misbun bin Dato’ Sidek. The theme for the night is okay, except for their montage. No, I’m not gonna tell you what happened, let the bygone be bygone (uhh is that correct?), but one thing hurt myself is to see how desperate my friend trying to convince some people (which is lecturer, a new lecturer) to try the montage before anything else. (Well it’s kinda narrow escape that we managed to complete the montage before the night (in this situation, I give more credit to my friend because he’s the one who came out with the ‘bling-bling’ thing.
).
The timeline for this event was scattered, unorganised, and inefficient!! I mean, what was all about the teamwork? (No, I’m not gonna blame on them for their own responsibility, instead I’m blaming some people who are blame other people for their own mistake. For God sake, this is sucks!!)
They was informed a week before the event, not to mentioned about the postponed date (last semester), they had more than enough time to settle down those things. I was indirectly asked a help to design a theme. At that moment, I forgot that my ‘mood and design switch’ was turned off since I spent all my holiday doing nothing except chorus and cooking (and sleeping, duh!! >_<) So I gave them two designs which is only a concept, I don’t really like being pushed at that time since they gave me only a day to do it. Whilst dealing with them, I had a design task for business card. Imagine at that time, I accept the tasks in blurry mood. With no idea and imagination, I try to design it, luckily that business card client switched on my switch and I completed her task. The only problem at that time was only the Theme Setting.
Back to the Gala Night. We (me and my friend) were invited to attend that night. You know what? Baju Batik is a compulsory. Yes, I think it is ridiculous to ask the student to wear it. Not to mentioned about the cost, where the heck can we borrow it? Being rationale enough, in my opinion, this is the way to let the student absent from it. Pretty ironic huh? As the result per se, most of the attended guests (including student) wore either formal attire, or baju batik, or baju melayu. Celebrate it enough, this gave the organiser a big slap for not to think about the rationale in attire setting. Fair enough, is there any regulations for women to wear batiks too? Or they can pick any attire they want (except for the wedding dress. LOL).
We spent pretty much money on the effort to help college, but what we received back? An Appreciation Certificate? Nah~ Just nothing, plain nothing! Not to mentioned we lost few bucks of airtime credit just to call and texting them. I hate this thing ya know?
So far, mind to give a big clap to them for their effort to invite Misbun.
(p/s: No, I’m not insulting other people, I just tell you what I’m feel right now, it’s a frustration, and I’m sulking with them now. It’s hurt and. Just go away okay? (Not you silly, them!))
